I just finished getting my tongue split! 
It hurts to eat or drink anything though. I'm hoping it won't grow back together because it HURT REALLY BAD!! I highly doubt it will though because I'd already had my tongue pierced, so it shouldn't grow at the end of the split (it ends where I got it pierced), so it won't grow anywhere else down the split, yada yada yada. I know it's a bit confusing, but I don't have any other way of putting it.
