Is there something to put on a horse's horseshoes to make them grip so the horse would have a good grip on different surfaces?

Yes, borium and caulks are the most prevelant. Other times the design of the shoe ,width of web(narrower the width the more it sinks in the ground) fullering, which creates a groove that allows dirt to lodge inside the web allows more traction than a shoe with no fullering.
